The Mystery of the Frogs (Police Story) by Bianca and Grace

One day, two biologists were walking in the Guajalito’s Forrest, looking for interesting frogs. One of them, Dr Coloma, heard a particular noise and went looking for the rock where the sound was louder, when he got close; he found a little frog with red and black skin. He got interested in the frog, so he decided to catch it in order to study it. He called the other biologist, Dr Ron, who was near a tree, to show him the frog. He found it quite interesting, but he didn’t wanted to share the credit if they found something interesting about the frog, so he told Dr Coloma that he would look for another interesting frog to work with. 

Two weeks later, they were both back in the city. Dr Coloma was very excited about the frog. As the days came by, he found a lot of things about it, specially the toxic composition of its skin. The university where he and Dr Ron worked and a lot of other institutions started to get interested in the project, so they gave him financial support to keep up with the investigation. On the other hand, Dr Ron didn’t find anything as nice as the frog to work with, so he was frustrated and jealous of his friend. He was so blind by the pursuit of attention that he hacked Dr Coloma’s computer, stole all the information and the results of the investigation and finally took the frog to his house. Nobody would suspect him to be the thief, since he was Dr Coloma’s friend.

On the next day, the owner of the investigation found out that he had been robbed, so he called the called the police. After half an hour, the police investigator arrived to the lab and she started to look for clues in order to found out who the thief was. She searched the area carefully, and an hour later she found a fingerprint in the frog’s terrarium, so she used her equipment to scan it. Then, she found a nail near the computer so she collected it.

She went to the Police’s Station Lab to make a DNA analysis to the nail, then she compared the fingerprint with the ones in the police database. She was trying to guess who could do something like that. She thought about gangs or terrorists that could use the toxic substance of the frog’s skin as a weapon. But when the results came by, she found out who the robber was, but she needed to be sure.

She went to Dr Ron’s house through the back door and down the hall she heard a little weird noise. When she walked towards it, she found the little frog in a small terrarium, so she took it to the police station and ordered the arrest of Dr Ron.
